These cells are obtained from meiosis in which diploid cells divide to generate haploid germs cells.
Basidiospores:
Basidiospores are reproductive spores that are generated by Basidiomycete fungus.
Basidiospores are formed by specialized fungal cells called basidia and normally contain one haploid nucleus that is the result of meiosis. Hence Basidiospores are haploid.
