Open in App
Solution

Diploid:

  1. Diploid cells contain 2n sets of chromosomes.
  2. They reproduce via mitosis, producing identical daughter cells.

Haploid:

  1. Haploid cells contain only n set of chromosomes which is half of the diploid cells.
  2. These cells are obtained from meiosis in which diploid cells divide to generate haploid germs cells.

Basidiospores:

  1. Basidiospores are reproductive spores that are generated by Basidiomycete fungus.
  2. Basidiospores are formed by specialized fungal cells called basidia and normally contain one haploid nucleus that is the result of meiosis. Hence Basidiospores are haploid.
