Solution

Chromosome sets:

  1. If a cell consists of two sets of chromosomes, then the cell is called diploid and expressed as 2n.
  2. If a cell consists of half the number of chromosomes as compared to diploid cells, the cell is called haploid and expressed as n.

Conidia:

  1. Conidia are non-motile asexual spores that are found in certain fungi.
  2. Example: Ascomycetes, Trichoderma.
  3. They are produced exogenously on a special type of mycelium called ‘conidiophores’ by mitosis.
