Lipids are hydro-carbonic non-polar organic compounds found in the living cells. It is a heterogeneous group of compounds that include- Glycerol, Esters, fatty acids, glycolipids, waxes, phospholipids.

Therefore, the fatty acid is a type of the lipid that contains the carboxylic acid group. These can be saturated or unsaturated.
