are lysosomes present in animals, plant, and protozoans, all three?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Lysosomes are absent in case of plants and are present in case of animals including protozoans for the simple reason that they act on bigger molecules that somewhat enters through the plasma membrane like bacteria or other particles but in plants there is a barrier to such macromolecules called cell wall. Therefore, plants lacks lysosomes. In case of protozoans, the lysosomes fuses with the food vacuole providing digestive enzymes.
