Solution

Stomata are pores in the leaf that allow gas exchange. Each stoma is guarded by guard cells. When these guard cells open during photosynthesis, carbon dioxide enters the leaves and water vapour and oxygen goes out of the leaves. Stomata are present usually on the underside of the leaves.
