Community reserves
Areas protected with the participation of the public are called Community reserves. These are found in populated areas and hence public participation helps in protecting the biodiversity. Keshopur-Chhamb community reserve in Punjab was the first community reserve in India. Kadalundi community reserve is an example of a community reserve in Kerela. It is spread over the Kozhikode and Malappuram districts of Kerala. Meghalaya has the most number (41) of community reserves in India.
