The medieval Indian society was divided into different classes of people. The upper class consisted of Kings and landlords. The middle class had mansabdars and traders. Mansabdars were rank officers of the Mughal empire. They governed the empire and commanded their armies. Lastly the lower class consisted of farmers, craftsmen, and slaves.
