The first part is the entrance to the temple, known as the “Gopuram”. This is constructed in a pyramidal shape, which keeps the Gopuram strong. Once we enter through the Gopuram, we reach a huge hall or a large area supported by several pillars. This is known as the Mandap. Through the Mandap, we then make our way to the room where the idol is placed and is known as the Garbha Gruh, or Gabharo, in Gujarati. Atop the Garbha Gruh, you can find the Viman. And finally, the topmost point of the Garbh Gruh is the Shikhara which is usually plated with gold or Brass.
