The highest Revenue Court in the district is the Board of Revenue. It functions directly under the High Court. The Board of Revenue hears the final appeals against all the lower revenue Courts under it. Directly under the Board is the Commissioner’s Court. This court looks after the assessment and collection of revenues for all the districts in a particular division. The Deputy Commissioners preside over the Collector’s Court. Next in the hierarchy is the ‘Tehsildar’ and the ‘Naib Tehsildar’. The Naib Tehsildar decides cases related to land disputes and recovery of revenue from land-owning farmers.
