In the first step, reactants are adsorbed on the surface of the catalyst. In the second step, adjacent reactant particles join together to form an intermediate or an activated complex (unstable). As the third step, the activated complex gets seperated and forms the product which is attached to the catalyst surface by partial chemical bonds.As the final step, the products are released from the surface of the catalyst.
