Arteries are deep seated and have thick walls. How does its dilation affect the uppermost layer of skin i.e epidermal layer during inflammation

At the inflammatory site the damaged tissue secretes cytokines (chemicals that attract WBC) Mast cell reach there and cause vasodilation (Vessels dilate) & causes blood plasma to accumulate there, which is seen as swelling. Redness is due to the vasodilation, increased blood supply, to that area.
