As a part of eco-club activity students were asked to raise a kitchen garden in the school premises. They were provided with some materials given in the box. List the other materials you would require. How will you plan the garden? Write the steps.

The other materials that would be required are : seeds, and organic manure or compost.
First of all the garden soil should be turned loose with the help of a spade/shovel. If the soil is hard and dry, spraying little water over the area will help in the process of preparaton of the soil. Next, the seeds should be sown in neatly arranged rows at uniform distance and depth. After sowing, the seeds should be covered with soil. Manure should be mixed well and spread directly over the soil. Next, the seeds should be regularly sprinkled with water using a water-can. With proper sunlight and protection against invading birds and rodents, the seeds will soon germinate. Upon germination, depending upon the nature of the plant, support structures should be erected. e.g. stick support for the climbers. The weeds should be regularly removed with the help of a khurpi and manure should be added regularly till fruition occurs.
