As you can feel your heartbeat, you can also feel the flow of blood in blood vessels by touching your pulse. Take the help of your teacher and find a pulse. Count your pulse for one minute. Find out from your teacher where else in your body can you feel the flow of blood.

Pulse:

  1. Pulse is a rhythmic beat felt in an artery.
  2. It is an indicator of the pumping action of the heart.
  3. With each beat of the heart, blood is ejected into the arteries.

Pulse rate:

  1. The resting pulse rate for an average adult ranges between 60 and 80 beats per minute.
  2. We can feel the flow of blood in vessels by putting fingers on the wrist and we can also count pulse from here.
