Solution

The correct option is C Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A.
The ‘Mandate’ system was introduced after the First World War. The mandate is an authorisation granted by the League of Nations to a member nation to govern a former German or Turkish colony. Britain was given the mandate of Iraq, Palestine, and Jordan. But, Arabs were not happy with the Mandate system as they were expecting independence after the First World War, but they were bestowed with the Mandate system instead. Also British allocated an Arab land, Palestine to Zionist leaders which enraged the Arabs.
