Monocistronic mRNA molecule is transcribed for one gene and encodes a single protein. These mRNAs have single initiation and termination sites and single type of polypeptide is produced. A polycistronic mRNA is transcribed from more than one genes, carries multiple initiation and termination sites (one for each cistron) and several types of polypeptides are produced. Thus, assertion is incorrect. Termination codons are the stop codons that do not code for any amino acid but causes termination of translation. mRNA carries information for sequence of amino acids in polypeptides in form of codons, termination codons are also present on mRNA, along with other coding codons. Thus, the correct answer is option D
