Solution

The correct option is A A is True and R is False
  • Owl eyes are dominated by the photoreceptor rod cells. It provides them with better night vision. Rod cells contain the pigment Rhodopsin which enhances their vision in low light.
  • In addition, owls have larger eyes which increases the amount of light entering the eyes.
  • During night when the intensity of light is very low, the iris regulates the amount of light entering the eye by adjusting the size of the pupil.
  • Also, they have tapetum lucidum behind retina. It reflects the visible light back on the rods. This reflection increases the amount of light provided to the photoreceptors. Thus, providing a superior night vision to owls.
