Aquatic annelids excrete ammonia, and terrestrial species (earthworm) excrete urea. However, earthworms are less ureotelic than other terrestrial animals. Excretory fluid contains 40% urea, 20% ammonia and 40% amino acids and other nitrogenous compounds, but no uric acid or urate.
