Solution

The correct option is B Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion.
Baryta water (aqueous solution of barium hydroxide) reacts with carbon dioxide to give white precipitate of barium carbonate, thus the solution looks turbid but when excess of carbon dioxide is passed then carbonate ions turns into bicarbonate ions.

Ba(OH)2+CO2BaCO3(white ppt.)

BaCO3+H2O+CO2Ba(HCO3)2

Carbonates when reacts with silver nitrate forms white precipitate of silver carbonates. If the solution of formed precipitate is boiled it gets converted into yellow coloured silver oxide.

CO23+Ag+Ag2CO3(white ppt.)

Ag2CO3boiledAg2O3(yellow/brown ppt.)+CO2
The reason doesn't explain the assertion. However, both assertion and reason are correct. Hence, option B is correct.
