Solution
The correct option is B Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion. The large, bubble-shaped epidermal cells present on the upper surface of the leaves of many grasses are known as bulliform cells. This thin-walled empty cell is concerned with the storage of water. Loss of turgor pressure in these cells causes leaves to "roll up" during conditions of water stress preventing loss of moisture through the vacuoles. When adequate water is available, these cells enlarge and the leaves unroll.
