The Hardy-Weinberg principle law states that in an infinitely large, interbreeding population in which mating is random and in which there is no selection, migration, or mutation, gene and genotype frequencies will remain constant from generation to generation.

The disturbance influences are mutation, gene flow, genetic drift, genetic recombination and natural selection. Disturbance in Hardy- Weinberg equilibrium, i.e., change of frequency of alleles in a population would then be interpreted as resulting in evolution.
