In steady state, the heat flowing perpendicular to the cross section is a constant.
As a result of which the temperature gradient is a constant. Temperature of all points hence becomes uniform. However this doesn't mean that there is no drop in temperature, the drop in temperature will be uniform with length.
Hence assertion is true and reason is false.
