When sodium nitroprusside is made to react with silfide ions, a deep violet coloration is formed. This coloration is of a complex anion i.e. [FeCN)5NOS]4.
Also, when H2S is acidified, formation of the complex anion is no morepossible, which was responsible for the deep violet coloration.
Thus, it gives negetive test with Sodium nitroprusside.
