The correct option is A Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion
$n (A \cup B) = n (A) + n (B) - n (A \cap B)$

$∴ n (A \cup B) = n (A) + n (B)$ for maximum of $n (A \cup B)$

Then the value of $n (A \cap B) = 0$

$n (A \cup B) = 3 + 6 = 9$
