Morula is an early stage embryo consisting of cells in a solid ball contained in zona pellucida. It is produced by a series of cleavage division of the early embryo, starting with a single-celled zygote up to the stage of 16 cells. As there are cleavage divisions, there is no increase in the size of the morula. As the cells are contained in zona pellucida and so it remains as it is, (undivided) till cleavage is complete.
