Homoerectus were eveolved from the Homohabilis and were divided into three groups called the java man, peking man and the Heidelberg man. Java man and peking men have the same characteriscts like using fire, living in same caves, body length and also both were omnivorous and cannabils. BUt the only difference is the capacity of cranium.
So fire is not only the reason for them to place in the Homoerectus but there are more simililarities.
