Kabir was the famous saint-poet who popularised the Bhakti movement in North India. He taught his philosophies through Dohas or two-line poems which were easily understood by ordinary people and tried to promote brotherhood between Hindus and Muslims. He described Hindus and Muslims as two wares made out of the same soil. Kabir considered himself as the son of Rama and Allah and said that they were just two names of one god. He wanted to propagate a religion of love and unite people of all castes and religion.
