Kelvin temperature scale is an absolute scale as it begins at a minimum point or fixed zero , hence it has an absolute zero .
At absolute zero , motion of the molecules freezes , therefore they have only internal potential energy (as K=0) hence their energy (K+U) becomes minimum .
Hence both, assertion and reason are correct but reason is not a correct explanation of assertion .
