Plasma membrane is the outer covering of all cells but it is present below the cell wall in plant cells. It is composed of phospholipid bilayer structure with embedded proteins and gives the mosaic-like appearance. The outer membrane leaflet contains the zwitterionic phospholipids like sphingomyelin and phosphatidylcholine, while the inner membrane leaflet contains phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl serine and even present phosphatidylinositol. Phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine are the most abundant glycerophospholipids in higher plants and animals. Thus, the correct answer is option D.
