The correct option is A Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A Muhammad - bin- Tughlaq's reign was known for many ambitious schemes. These schemes failed and brought ruin to the empire. For the failure of his schemes and his strange behaviour, he was called mad emperor in the medieval history of India.
He imposed taxation in Doab and transfered his capital from Delhi to Devagiri.
These two plans got failed and too much generosity caused a heavy loss to the treasury. But he was badly in need of money so he issued copper coin which had the same value as those of gold or silver coins. Like other plans, this plan also failed.
