Hamidullah Khan was the Nawab of Bhopal. He presided over a Hindu majority population. He was close to the Muslim League. He staunchly opposed the rule of the Congress. He also wrote to Lord Mountbatten expressing his opinions against the accession to India. He became aware of the large number of princes who agreed to accede to India. Eventually, he agreed to join the Indian union in July 1947.
