Question

Assume that the total surface area of a human body is 1.6 m2 and that it radiates like an ideal radiator. Calculate the amount of enrgy radiated per second by the body if the body temperature is 370 C. Stefan constant σ is 6.0×108Wm2K4 .

Solution

A = 1.6 m2,T=370C=3100 K

s = 6.0×108w/m2K4

Energy radiated per sec

= AST4=1.6×6×108×3104

= 8865801×104 = 886.58

= 887 J.
