Solution

The correct option is A Half of 740 mm
Solution: According to Dalton's law,
PTotal =pH2+p02=740 mm
Partial Pressure of H2(PH2)=nH2RTVf
Vf= final Volume of mixture
Pantial pressure of O2(PO2)=no2RTVρ
if nH2=n0=n
PTotal =nRTVf+nRTVf
if 02 is removed,
p02=0
pTotal =nRTvf

by eq. (1) & (2),

Pressure becomes Half of 740 mm
Hence option (A) is correct.
