Solution

Electronic configuration:

  1. The distribution of electrons in atomic or molecular orbitals of an atom or molecule is known as the electron configuration.
  2. The electrons are filled according to the Aufbau principle.
  3. According to the theory, electrons first exist in lower energy orbitals before moving on to higher energy orbitals.
  4. The following ordering for energy orbitals is used: 1s,2s,2p,3s,3p,4s,3d,4p,5s,4d,5p,6s,4f,5d,6p and 7s.

Neon:

  1. It is a chemical element with an atomic number 10 and is represented as "Ne".
  2. It is a colorless, odorless inert gas.
  3. Its electronic configuration is 1s22s22p6.

Calcium:

  1. It is a chemical element with an atomic number20 and is represented as Ca.
  2. It is a highly reactive metal.
  3. The electronic configuration is 1s22s22p63s23p64s2.

Nitrogen:

  1. It is a chemical element with an atomic number 7 and is represented as "N"
  2. It is a non-metal and most abundant element in the universe.
  3. Its electronic configuration is 1s22s22p3.

Silicon:

  1. It is a chemical element with an atomic number 14and is represented as "Si".
  2. It is a solid, crystalline metalloid and semiconductor in nature.
  3. Its electronic configuration is 1s22s22p63s23p2.
