Solution

The correct option is B

35

Dobereiner's Law of Triads

  • When elements are arranged in the order of increasing atomic masses, groups of three elements (known as triads), having similar chemical properties are obtained. The atomic mass of the middle element of the triad is equal to the arithmetic mean of the atomic masses of the other two elements.
  • For example - The elements lithium, sodium, and potassium have similar chemical properties and form a triad.
Atomic weight of an element 1Atomic weight of an element 2Atomic weight of an element 3
x81127

The atomic weight of an element 1 can be calculated as

x+1272=81

x+127=2(81)=162

x=35

Hence, the missing atomic weight ‘x’ is 35.
