The given statement is false.

Lakes, oceans, rivers are large sources of water.The amount of water that gets evaporated from these sources is very high as compared to the soil. Water is one of the important ingredients in the formation of the soil. Water enters the soil through rain, snow etc and drains down into it. This water also gets evaporated.
