  4. If the chemical equation is not balanced law of conservation is not applicable.

  1. 4 moles of P4 reacting with Cl2 to give PCl5
  2. 4P4+Cl24PCl5

Step 2: Balancing chlorine

  1. Hence, 4 moles of P4 reacting with 10 moles of Cl2to give 4 moles ofPCl5.
  2. 4P4+10Cl24PCl5
  3. The above equation is the final balanced equation.
