Buoyancy or upthrust is an upward force exerted by fluids that opposes the weight of an immersed object. Weight exerted by an object acts in the direction opposite to buoyancy.
Case 1: Weight < Buoyancy
The net force acting on the object acts in the direction of the greatest force(buoyant force), so the ball floats.

Case 2: Weight = Buoyancy
The net force becomes zero, so the ball is submerged in the liquid.

Case 3: Weight > Buoyancy
