Controlling floods.
Varieties of plants and animals or biodiversity offer many services to mankind. These services are divided into ecological services, cultural services, making essential materials available and auxiliary services. Ecological services include soil formation, prevention of soil erosion, purification and maintenance of air composition, availability of freshwater and the control of flood and climate. Providing recreation is a cultural service. Biodiversity also provides us with construction materials which are essential for the development of man.
