The specific heat of the water will be infinite at this stage when the boiling water is changing into steam.Specific heat is calculated by the formula
c=Q/m∆T
where c= specific heat
Q= heat lost or gained
m= mass
T=temperature change
Since the temperature is constant during this change of state and boiling water into steam is an isothermal process, so, ∆T will be zero. Putting the value as zero in the formula, the specific heat will be infinite.
