Both greenhouse effect and global warming are the same phenomena.
False
Greenhouse effect is a naturally occurring phenomenon by which the presence of greenhouse gases in the earth’s atmosphere helps retain warmth on the planet, helping sustain life. Without it, life would freeze on the earth. Global warming, on the other hand, refers to an increase in the average surface temperature of the earth. This happens when there is an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, beyond normal levels, upsetting the natural greenhouse effect. Such an increase is mostly attributed to human activities such as burning of fossil fuels, reducing vegetation cover on the surface of the planet, etc.
