Dear Student,
The Indus valley civilization depended extensively on trade. Goods were transported by bullock carts and boats for trading purposes. Lothal in present day Gujarat was a major port of this civilization. The Indus valley civilization had trading relations with Mesopotamia, Peria and Central Asia. Goods that were traded included terracotta pots, beads, gold and silver, coloured gem stones such as turquoise and lapis lazuli, metals, flints (for making stone tools), seashells and pearls.
