Rhizobium converts atmospheric nitrogen into nitrates and stores in roots. Plants use this stored nitrates.
Plants gives shelter to Rhizobium. They co-operate one another. Such a cooperation is called "symbiosis".
Soil fertility increase in growing legume crops in the fields.
