The correct option is D 12 V
A voltmeter is said to be ideal if its resistance is infinite, means current from the circuit element will be zero.


Since, current flowing will be zero hence voltmeter will measure potential of the battery only.

So, reading of voltmeter across points A and B will be 12 V.
