Covalent bond — Such types of bond are formed by the mutual sharing of electrons among the atoms and are considered a covalent bond

  • These electrons are simultaneously attracted by the two atomic nuclei.
  • This type of bond is formed between the non-metals.
  • On the basis of sharing electrons, these are the following types.
  • Single bond [when only one electron is shared between the atoms.
  • Double bond [when two electrons are shared between the atoms].
  • Triple bond [when three electrons are shared between the atoms.
  • Delta bond [when four electrons are shared between the atoms, this rare type of bond is formed in only a few compounds,
