Selling price of Jug =SP

Cost price Jug =CP

SP1= Rs. 144 selling price initially
Loss =17×CP given in question
Loss=CPSP
Loss =17×CP=CP144
67×CP=144
CP= Rs. 168
Now, If Jug is sold for Rs. 189
SP2= Rs. 189
Gain %=SPCPCP×100%
=189168168×100%
=21168×100%
=18×100%
=12.5%
