To find out the fraction a given figure represents we follow the steps given below:

(i) Identify the number equal parts

(ii) Number of parts that are coloured or shaded

The fraction that they represent = $\frac{\text{Number of parts coloured}}{\text{Total number of equal parts}}$

Hence, the above figures represent the fractions $\frac{2}{6}$, $\frac{3}{6}$ and $\frac{5}{6}$ respectively.

Now, $\frac{5}{6}$ > $\frac{2}{6}$ and $\frac{3}{6}$.

Therefore $\frac{2}{6}$ and $\frac{3}{6}$ will be added.

$\frac{2}{6}+\frac{3}{6}=\frac{2+3}{6}=\frac{5}{6}$
