The correct option is B

5.7 ms2


Given,
mass of the Earth, Me=6×1024kg,
radius of the Earth,Re=6.4×106m,
height above the earth's surface, h=2000×103m and G=6.7×1011Nm2kg2.

When the body is at height h above the surface of the earth then the distance of the body from the centre of the Earth will be R=Re+h.

So, R=6.4×106 + 2000×103
=8.4×106m

Since, acceleration due to gravity, g=GMR2

So, g=6.7×1011×6×1024(8.4×106)2

On solving we get g=5.7 ms2.
