Question

Calculate the % change in temperature if % change in volume of heat is 10%.

Open in App
Solution

According to Charles Law
Volume of a gas is directly proportional to the temperature at constant pressure and number of moles.
V1T1 V2T2
V1V2=T1T2(1)
If % change in volume is 10%
V2V1V1×100=10
V2V1V1=0.1
V2=1.1V1
On putting the value of 1/2 in equation (1)
V11.1V1=T1T2
Thus T2=1.1T1
% change in temperature= T2T1T1×100=1.1T1T1T1×100
ΔT=10%
