Given that,
mass, $m = 0.1 k g$
Momentum, $P = 40 k g m s^{- 1}$
Velocity $= v$
We know that,
$P = m v$
Kinetic energy, $K E = \frac{1}{2} m v^{2}$
On replacing $v = \frac{P}{m}$ ,
$K E = \frac{1}{2} m \times {(\frac{P}{m})}^{2} K E = \frac{P^{2}}{2 m} K E = \frac{{(40)}^{2}}{2 \times 0.1}$
$K E = 8000 J$
The kinetic energy of a body is $8000 J$ .
