Question

CALCULATE THE MASS OF ONE ATOM OF -:
a)oxygen (at mass 16) b)nitrogen ( at mass 14)

Open in App
Solution

1) Molar mass of oxygen = 16 g mol-1
Mass of 6.022×1023 atoms of oxygen = 16 gMass of one atom = 166.022×1023 = 2.65×10-23 g

2) Molar mass of nitrogen = 14 g mol-1
Mass of 6.022×1023 atoms = 14 gMass of 1 atom = 146.022×1023 = 2.32×10-23 g
